PAINTING 2015 – 2016

Heads of States refers to the states of self-conscious attitude or presentation of the figures in these works. Familiar but altered domestic settings are intended to provoke a confusing or alluring collective recognition.

Using familiar tropes of stripes, diamonds and pattern to contour the bodies of chairs, walls and floors,  Chairscapes suggest an intimate familiar lexicon of human gesture, form and shape. Contouring refers to the human body and mapping landscapes while the small dimensions of these works provides an intimate interior experience to the viewer.
