Happily confused, Grellier is seeking a way to consolidate her practice using the making process and supposedly low value materials to describe serially chaotic ideas and thoughts. She finds meaning in mundane objects such as chairs, clothing and packaging, which are describers of human space and activity, and considers the equation of an artistic gesture, in activities like cutting, sticking, stitching, drawing and collecting, and a successful outcome: momentary clarity, lengthy activity and final meaning or meanings produce an awkward sense of value or relevance. She is interested in taking on pieces and projects that take time to build up which provides many opportunities to consider the sudden impetus to make them.
